Setting Up and Breaking Down your Tripod
In setting up and taking down the tripod, we recommend that you always start with the bottom sections and work your way up, giving the twist-locks a half turn to open and to close again. Once you get that routine down, you will find it very easy to set up the tripod and it will serve you well for a long time.
Adjusting the Leg Tension on any Tripod Model

Tournament Class Tripods: CT-3342 / CT-3442
There are 3 M5 screws on the tripod main frame to fasten the center part accessory. By loosen up 3 M5 screws with our included hexagonal wrench, user can interchange ballhead mount, center column, or leveling base. Once the center part accessory has been interchanged, please fasten the 3 M5 screws to lock the accessory tightly in place.
In order to install spikes, just take off the rubber feet and use our included 12mm opening wrench to lock in the spikes on the bases located at the bottom of the tripod legs.
Standard and Large Tripods: CT3301 / CT-3401 / CT-3402 and CT-3371 / CT-3471
Install mount
First step, either install ballhead mount or center column on the tripod. A 2.5 mm hexagonal wrench can be used to install/detach ballhead mount from tripod or center column.
Install Ballhead
First you must secure the center column tightly on the tripod, then one hand holding center column, and one hand holding ballhead, and screw in the ball head clock wide into the screw on the mount.
Large Tripods: CT-3371 / CT-3471 Vented Leg Tube Adjustment
Adjustment
Only tripod models manufactured after 7/26/2007 have the air vent screw feature, allowing the user to alter the air tightness within the leg tube.
Please take off the leg tube using the included hexagonal wrenches. One will see Two small screws will be visible at the bottom of the leg tube. Please use your fingers to pull the stopping pin outward and to hold it in place. Next, use the included 2mm hexagonal wrench to remove both screws and reattach the leg tube to the tripod main frame. Repeat these steps for all three leg tubes. This will eliminate the air pressure inside each leg tube and make leg tubes easier to move in and out.
To restore air tightness, just take off the leg again and replace both screws. In order to prevent screws from slipping out accidentally, a bonding agent can be applied to the screws before putting them back.
Note: We recommend that you do not screw both screws in all the way but to leave the screws 1mm above the leg tube metal surface so they will not block the inside of the carbon fiber tube.
Monopod CM-1401: Interchanging 1/4” or 3/8” Screw
In order to attach a ballhead or other accessory to the CM-1401 Monopod, use the included socket-wrench to remove the screw in the middle of the base. Turning the screw upside-down will reveal a ¾” thread at its other end (see picture). Using the socket-wrench, reattach the screw upside down.
